Flower / Fruit: Male flowers reddish brown in ball like heads; female flowers brown yellow; inconspicuous Soil: Well drained, slightly alkaline to acidic, clay or sandy soil; tolerant of infrequent flooding
Foliage: Alternate, simple, large leaf; light green leaves turn yellow to brown in Fall Light: Full sun; young tolerate some shade
Bark:  Smooth, olive to light gray, quickly develops mottled bark patches of creamy white and olive, gray green Pruning: To maintain central leader
  Uses: Large parking lot islands, buffers, median strips, screen, shade tree
