Form / Shape: Oval, rounded, generally smooth outline Drought Tolerance: Moderate
Flower / Fruit: Red, showy before leaves emerge; blooms in Spring Soil: Well drained, moist, fertile, humus rich; tolerates wet sites
Foliage: Opposite, simple, five lobed, green to dark green leaves in Summer turn orange, red or purple in Fall Light: Full sun to part shade, best growth and color in full sun
Bark:  Smooth, grayish tan Pruning: To develop crown and strong limb angles, remove crossing limbs and low hanging limbs
  Uses:  Large shade, specimen, group plantings, buffer areas
