Form / Shape: Rounded crown Drought Tolerance: Moderate
Flower / Fruit: Brown male; inconspicuous female blooms in Spring; Red brown acorns 1 to 1 1/2" long by 1" wide Soil: Well drained, moist, fertile, humus rich; found growing in areas with infrequent flooding
Foliage: Alternate, simple, coarsely lobed, new growth emerges red and matures to dull, dark green; turns orange red to scarlet in Fall Light: Full sun; tolerates partial shade
Bark:  Dark, gray brown Pruning: Maintain central leader; to remove low hanging limbs
  Uses: Parking lot islands, lawn tree, buffer strips around parking lots, shade tree or residential street tree
