Flower / Fruit: White blooms in Spring; Red berries Fall through Winter Soil:  Well drained; moist; fertile, slightly acidic
Foliage:  Alternate, simple, oblong to ovate, spiny leaf; glossy dark green Light: Full sun; tolerates part shade but it limits flower & berries
Bark:   Smooth; green on young matures to tannish gray Pruning: Little pruning to develop strong structure; prune for shape, density & control size
  Uses: Hedge, screen, large specimen
