Form / Shape: Broad, pyramidal to round dome Drought Tolerance: Moderate to high
Flower / Fruit: Olive green to tan male; brown green female flower matures to gray brown acorn; blooms in late Winter to early Spring; small gray brown, oval shaped acorn, 3/8" - 1/2" acorn Soil: Well drained, moist, fertile, humus rich, slightly acidic; adaptable to clay, loam or sandy soil; moderately tolerant of wet soils and infrequent flooding
Foliage: Alternate, simple, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic-lanceolate; new growth emerges light green matures to dark green; turns yellow green to yellow in the Fall Light: Full sun; tolerates part shade
Bark:  Smooth, gray matures to dark gray to gray black Pruning: Maintain central leader; to remove low hanging limbs
  Uses: Parking lot islands, lawn tree, buffer strips around parking lots, shade tree or residential street tree
