Flower / Fruit: Catkins, 2-4" long; blooms in Spring; nutlet produced in Spring Soil: Well drained, moist, fertile, humus rich soil; very tolerant of moist sites
Foliage: Alternate, simple, medium to dark green, serrated leaves turn shades of yellow in Fall Light: Full sun to part shade
Bark:  Smooth, green brown; mature bark exfoliates in large papery sheets with chalky tan to beige-white color Pruning: To maintain shape
  Uses: Specimen, buffer areas, lawns, parks as a Winter accent
