Mature Size:   20' tall by 20' wide Growth Rate:   Moderate to Fast
Form / Shape:  Rounded, dense, thick crown Drought Tolerance:  Moderate to High
Flower / Fruit:  White fragrant blooms;
                          Large red berries
Soil:  Well-drained, moist, fertile, humus rich, slightly acidic soil; very adaptable to many soil types
Foliage:  Alternate, simple, oblong, single spined, 2-4" long; leaves remain glossy, dark green in Fall; old foliage turns yellow and sheds in Winter. Light: Full sun; tolerates partial shade, but may limit flower and berry production.
Bark:   Smooth, gray Pruning: Prune to develop shape, density & control size; typically pruned into formal hedge plantings.
  Uses: Large hedge or screen, buffer strips,  most popular as a multi-stemmed small tree.
